Attached at the Heart Online Training Application Process

API's application and approval is a prerequisite to attending the Attached at the Heart Training. There are two tracks available, as described below. Please contact Tina McRorie at training@attachmentparenting.org  with any questions about the program, trainings, or application process.

Professional Development Track

Applies to professionals and paraprofessionals who want to gain knowledge to apply to their current practices serving families with children.

  1. Complete application and pay $30 nonrefundable application fee. Your application will be reviewed, and an acceptance letter will be sent with the registration link, cost, and training details.
  2. Begin assigned readings, Nonviolent Communication by Marshall Rosenberg, Hold on to Your Kids by Gordon Neufeld and Gabor Maté and complete reading the text for the course, Attached at the Heart; and
  3. Complete reading on selected API guidelines and policies.
  4. Attend the training. You will receive a certificate stating your contact the hours, and receive any CEs as applicable.

Parenting Educator Track

Applies to applicants who want to become Certified Attached at the Heart Parenting Educators and teach the classes online or in their communities.

In addition to the above steps, you will attend one additional day of training and you will complete a 4-6 month practicum. Upon completion of the practicum, you will be recognized as a Certified Attached at the Heart Parenting Educator and you will have access to all the materials needed to teach the AHPP in person or online.

The tuition for this track is an additional $100.

Practicum Requirements

Parents: this training is intended for professionals and paraprofessionals with post-secondary education and/or experience in the child and family fields.
