Job Description API Blog Editor (API Speaks)
Volunteer Position

API is now accepting applications for the position of API blog editor.

API’s blog, API Speaks (http://attachmentparenting.org/blog/), shares the daily personal experiences of attachment parenting families among API’s extensive community and beyond. The blog editor will have an opportunity to make a mark on the direction of the API blog and help improve and grow this popular blog. This is a great opportunity to become a part of the API team and new initiatives to increase the impact of API’s mission.

Commitment: This is a year-round volunteer position, requiring approximately 2-8 hours per week after initial training. Training will begin in November.
Description: The Editor will lead team efforts to secure, produce, author and edit all content for this blog.

Responsibilities:
•Create, edit and maintain content on API’s community blog according to the blog schedule
•Work closely with the API Communication team, Social Media team, and Web Team to promote the blog
•Troubleshoot issues and identify concerns to the Executive Director
•Manage and coordinate a team of blog contributors and editors
Requirements:
•Experienced parent/home/family blogger, supportive of API Principles of Parenting
•Desire to educate and support parents, join in desire to advance API’s mission
•Proficiency in editing and writing web content required
•Familiarity with web-based content management tools, such as Wordpress, required
•Proficiency in HTML and CSS helpful.
•Web marketing and analytics reporting experience a plus.
•Able to lead and direct others, including positively guiding blog contributors, as necessary
•Able to work independently and as part of a team
•Interest in affiliate marketing, list building and search engine optimization helpful
