Job Description API Advertising Manager

Objective:
Acquire and maintain new and existing advertising accounts so that The Attached Family will be self-sustaining as well as a way for API to generate additional funds to cover operating costs. Begin to develop outgoing advertising so that our organization can gain more exposure and support for attachment parenting and API, while also creating supportive relationships with like-minded organizations and businesses.


Responsibilities:
• Manage an advertising team, which may include an advertising newsletter editor, promotions manager, and sales person.
• Manage an ad proposal that takes advantage of all of the new advertising opportunities that API has to offer
• Communicate frequently with the Business Management Coordinator to discuss strategies, plan implementation and outcome
• Mail/email copies of our publication to potential advertisers as needed and follow up with them via phone
• Work with various teams’ members to increase ad revenue throughout API
• Maintain excellent records of potential and current advertisers and routinely upload to API’s office management database
• Be diligent in keeping excellent records dealing with advertising revenue
• Develop good rapport with our advertisers so as to represent API with integrity and to gain repeat advertising
• Work with API’s Web master to maintain advertising information on API’s Web site
Qualifications:
• High degree of personal integrity
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent internet search and navigation skills
• Excellent knowledge of the 8 Principles of Attachment Parenting
• Strong ability to organize and keep track of information
• Strong ability and willingness to call potential and former advertisers to solicit their business and maintain positive relationships with the client
Estimated Time Commitment:
10 hours per week

Measure of Success:
A growing collection of advertisers that support API and have the desire to continue to contribute to the success of The Attached Family and other API advertising opportunities as well as accurate and meticulous records of advertising revenue.
