I'm 36 weeks and 2 days (oh my word...when did that happen?) and I'm obviously fast approaching my due date. I am for the most part pretty well prepared. I still have to get a car seat and some minor things for the birth but over all...I'm set.
First my questions:
My midwife suggested making some pads with witch hazel or comfrey tea on them and then freezing them. Can I use disposable pads? Or are clothe pads the only way to go in this case? Do I just spray or pour a bit on the pads?
Did you find you really needed these?
Also I heard about adding witch hazel to the epi squirt bottle, what parts to what parts?
For your nursing toddlers, did you allow them to nurse during labor? Did you find it too painful to nurse? Did you find it helpful to nurse?
A few things I did to prepare myself was I read Ina May's Guide to Natural Childbirth...I can not recommend this book enough! Inspiring, informative and awesome! I always watched the Business of Being Born. What an awesome documentary. Truly opened my eyes up even more!

Mix some witch hazel or strong comfrey tea and pour it on them and then lay them on the back of a wide bowl and freeze. The bowl will help shape the pad. After they are frozen just take them off and store them in a ziploc in the freezer.
They are truly wonderful and really helped me get through the first few days
