    resource for age appropriate behaviour?

    Hello everyone,
    Can anyone suggest a go-to resource that AP's have found helpful re: learning about age appropriate behaviour? We understand that our knowledge of what to expect at certain ages/developmental stages will certainly help guide us to respond appropriately to our daughter's needs. She is only six months right now, but we are thinking ahead toward toddlerhood. As she is our first child, we would love a trusty resource that others have found reliable and sensitive.

    I have not seen too many 'AP' style books on this. A lot of the books also lump in things that are not so much developmental as cultural (sleeping in own bed, saying 'sorry', no longer nursing) so it can be tough to find a book that notices the difference. The Dr. Sears books are pretty good at that, have you looked at them?

    There is a whole series of books by Louise Bates Ames such as "Your Three-Year-Old: Friend or Enemy" see at http://www.amazon.com/Your-Three-Yea.../dp/0440506492

    Those books are not AP BUT have some good developmental appropriate guidance in them. Read with sensitivity towards suggestions of non-AP discipline etc.

      i do have Dr. Sears several books, but was looking for something more specific. i reviewed online a few pages of the books you suggested, and i think they are just what im looking for - just a guide, and i'll be sure to be keeping my AP lens on while reading!
