About API Speaks

API Speaks launched in April of 2008 as part of Attachment Parenting International’s larger effort to offer interactive content through their newly-redesigned web site: http://www.attachmentparenting.org. All contributors to API Speaks, as with so many of API’s staff, are volunteers who donate their time and energy to promote Attachment Parenting world wide.

Contributing Editors

Julie Artz is an API Support Group Leader in Boulder County, Colorado, and is also API’s Communications Coordinator. She works part-time from home as a web project manager and developer. Julie lives in Lyons, Colorado, with her children, Gabriel & Lily, her husband Matt, and pets Durango and Mystic.

In addition to API Speaks, Julie also blogs at ChezArtz and 5 Minutes for Going Green about the issues that matter most to her: the environment, organic gardening, eating locally, toy safety, food preservation, cooking, and parenting (of course).

Amy Gates, also known as the Crunchy Domestic Goddess, is a Contributing Editor for API Speaks and is also API’s Blogger Liaison.

Amy lives in Colorado with her husband and two children, Ava and Julian. Passionate about a number of things from natural childbirth and breastfeeding to green living, she considers herself an activist and is trying to do her part to raise social consciousness and make the world a better place.

In addition to taking care of her children and home, Amy runs two online CafePress stores - Attached At The Hip and Cute As A Bug, and enjoys blogging, photography, reading and hiking.
