Once again, I'm calling you when I have a problem at my potential future house. "What did you write in those articles years ago? It just seemed so helpful!" I'm grateful your articles can get my thinking wheels turning in the mommy section of my brain. Love to all of you!

How reassuring to know that you have a wonderful, working parenting style with a strong foundation so that it doesn't even falter in times of crisis. Having AP be second nature by practicing it consistently at home means that there's no struggling with how to use a sling, no problems latching on, which must be absolutely invaluable in times like the one you've described. As we're currently fortifying milk for our son (born at 28 weeks), I understand the work that goes into bottles and cannot imagine the hassle of figuring that out in an ER setting - and I'm so glad our bottle involvement is a temporary situation! Love and healing vibes to your family.
