Homebirth is not the best or the right option for everyone...and neither is a hospital birth. Educated, informed and responsible parents need to be given the choice to decide for themselves what will be right for their family. As someone who has had just about every type of birth: a unecessarean, a wonderful birthing center birth, a nightmare hospital birth and a life changing homebirth--- not to mention my experience as a doula and parent educator--- I have seen the many facets of birth. The one thing that I have learned is that a cookie-cutter, one-size-fits-all approach is absurd! I can only hope that our Constitution and the principles it stands for is still strong enough to reject blatant violations of human rights and threats to a woman's bodily integrity...take few minutes to remind your elected officials & representatives of their obligations to the people they serve! I also read that they want to make co-sleeping illegal. It is just too many kinds of wrong wrong wrong. Millions of years of evolution are wrong in their eyes??? It just gets me so angry.
