Need a childcare provider who practices the attachment parenting principles. Looking in the Seattle area. Any references or links for info can help. Many thanks, and it's good to hear from everyone. Support needed......so carry-on! Peace.

What a great article! It was so well-written.

I enjoyed hearing about your family's choices, and what a great job -- and family -- you have!

What a great post, Justine. It goes to show that a lot of times (not every time) if we are willing to make some adjustments and sacrifices, babies and small children can have the benefit of having one or both parents stay home with them during the day.

When my first baby was 4 months old, I returned to work 16 hours. a week, working 4 days a week. My hubby worked very early hours, and was home by 1pm. I went to work 2-6pm, and then hubby stayed with baby. It was an additional bonus that Joe got to participate so much in Ryan's care and early days. He still talks about it.

I was laid off when Ryan was 13 mnths. & since we knew we were going to have another baby soon, we decided I would stay at home F/T. I did, and loved it.

Found new P/T job last Sept., where I work 1.5 days a week. My mother-in-law watches the boys on the full day, and we have a wonderful, loving, and attached child care provider for the half day (and for back-up.) I also do a few hours of work from home each week as well.

It is so nice to have that balance, work if you need to, or choose to, and still be providing your children with a loving and caring atmosphere.
